Hi Guys,

I want to swap my car for a C32 or C43 amg or sell it what do you think i will get for it.

The Car:

Engine

This car is a replica of a C43 the actual car is a C280 sport. A lot of work has been done to modify the engine to make the performance feel like a C43 but the best way to see it is to actually drive the car and see for yourself.

Lights
After market lights have been put on the car (and they passed MOT) but I have kept the originals.

Exterior
I have put a new grill on the car, I don’t have the original but they are easy to get hold off. AMG body modifications have been made to make the car look like an AMG e.g. the front bumper and spoiler. There is an AMG exhaust tip added too. There are also nice alloys on the car. The tyres are also Bridgestone’s.

Interior
The car is full black leather; the car has AMG dials and AMG sports mats as well as AMG stickers on the headrest. I have also bought AMG pedals, which I will be adding later to the car. In addition to all of this the car has a Pioneer stereo which flips up and acts as a TV or Tom-Tom type navigation system, which covers Europe.

The service history is also full Mercedes

You dont mention age or mileage?

Rough guess about £1800 to the right buyer but more like £1200 in the current climate.

I think any of us who has actually looked at the current market will have concluded that we will keep our cars for the foreseeable. Happily, if we are going to be "stuck with", there are few better cars to be stuck with.

If my newer cars stand the test of time as well as my oldest car, I will be very well pleased. Wouldn't it be nice to see today's recent cars talked about in 15 years time with the enthusiasm the 124s enjoy today? :)

what annoys me about the c280 is there is a limit to how much you can increase the bhp and i can never find any tuning shops that do anything especially as it is an r reg

I dont see the logic trying to gain more BHP in a car like yours, to get anything pant wetting will cost thousands, just as well to hang tight and buy the car with the performance. trust me Ive wasted £1000's upgrading cars and now I drive a 320 BHP CL and its more than enough.

I agree with jib on all counts. But if you are determined, bear in mind that everyone else's car is worth less too. There are SL320s with modest mileage and excellent provenance for rather less than £10K at present (have a 500 if you want to be a hooligan). It is the net cost of changing that is important, and that is less now than ever I suspect. :);-)

You're wanting to move up in the range, so the fact prices have plummeted is better for you. Ok, so you were hoping to get £3k and now only goning to get £1200, but that AMG that was £7k is now only £4k, so cost to change is far better.

Be positive!! ;)
