flushed engine, changed the oil, cleaned what tubes i could and it went away afetr two days... weird! funny these hydraulic tappets!

will change the oil after 4k mile next time :)

Yes many cars have done odd things, one of the first to make odd noises, or just one noisy tappet was the Rover 3.5 liter with the USA block, there were many more. When you bought and sold cars, you just hoped that they would be quiet during the sale.

One should not forget that many of our cars have been run on non synthetic oils for many years. This alone can block the oilways. The oil presure going to the camshaft is not very high on each oil way. the action of cleaning and flushing can stop or start tappet noise, it does not take that long to fix with the thicker pads.
