Think my crankshaft pulley has failed, looks like its seperated!
Is my only option for a new part is to go to Mercedes?
or do they do a pattern part, I cant seem to find a new one online

A company called Corteco make crankshaft pulleys for most cars if you seek a cheaper solution than Mercedes. I don't know for certain that they cover your particular model, but worth a look.

Thanks for replying
Can't seem to see anything for a crankshaft pulley on there online catalog, I might give them a call.
Its a strange one as the car is running perfectly, just a belt noise when cold. belts going around turning the alternator, but when the cars off, I can turn the belt with my fingers & I can see the crankshaft pulley turning freely.
Do you think It would be foolish of me to drive the car as it is?

A lot of these cars incorporate a one way clutch in the crank pulley. The belt will freewheel in one direction with your fingers, but not turn in the other direction. That is quite normal.

Thanks so much for the info.
That was what the mechanic was wondering when he was looking at it, but he said I need to get some advice from Mercedes
I done this short video when he was showing me, its turning freely clockwise , not sure of the other direction

Ah, that isn't the belt part, it looks to be a rear part of the pulley. Looks to be broken to me.

Oh no, is there any way to visually if it broken, the thing thats puzzling me is I think I have been driving the car around from the last 6 months with this fault, the only fault with the car is some chirping from the engine when it cold, disappears when warmed up, battery charges nicely.

I think you’ll need to take the pulley off the car to see what is going on behind there properly

I have just had another look under the bonnet, I can freely move the belt only in one direction, that would make sense if it has a one way clutch, If it was broken of separated in some way, surely it would move in either direction?
Sorry for all the questions, you are the only person I have spoken to that knows their stuff on this engine

That’s normal then. In the video it looks like a thin metal disc is rotating behind the pulley. I am viewing it on an ancient phone tho!

Could it just not be worn belt that once warmed the noise if gone,
