Need Advice... - 1995 E420

The car has been in and out of the dealership for over a month with problems. It will run like a champ and then sometimes it won't go past lugging. The dealership could never get it to similate the same symptoms so we would take it home  and the symptoms started again. Well , know they are saying it is the throttle actuator that has malfunctioned. The car has only 70,000 plus miles on it. They want over $1100 dollars for the repair.
On every incident it would take place after driving home from work,parking it, then leaving on errands, 2 times it has happened while going 50 plus miles an hour.

Need Advice...

No lights come on. Really eveything is normal until it starts sputtering. They changed the feul filter and did the normal service. It was cutting out when it decided before we took it in for the normal service.
It will run good, get warm from driving in Houston and then act up.

Need Advice...

I had exactly this problem last year. It was eventually traced to a failing Lambda Probe in the catalytic converter. Changing the probe solved the problem and cost something like £100. Apparently it has direct control over the fuel/air mix and is temperature sensitive hence the car's eratic behaviour under load.

Need Advice...

My 190E had similar symptoms when the fuel pump started to fail. This was accompanied by some rough running though.
