Hey Guys

I've recently replaced the instrument cluster on my A180 (W176), third gen, but need to code it. Have been looking at this scanner: https://albionshire.co.uk/product/thinktool-lite-obd2-car-diagnostics-tool-with-ecu-coding/

It's obviously a lot of money so want to make sure I'm getting bang for my buck. Was hoping to ideally find something I could use on my laptop where as the above is hand-held. What tools / scanners have you guys used to code parts? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

if you want the whole hog then STAR xentry.

Not sure what needs coding on the your car, but if its a one off, I would pay a dealer to do it or a good merc indy.

Thanks for the reply, it's much appreciated. That's a good shout re paying the dealers. I was thinking if it's going to cost a lot I'd rather buy the scanner and do it myself. But you're right I should probably get some quotes first.

Thanks for the STAR xentry suggestion, I'll check it out.

What is your location? Someone may be able to recommend a decent Mercedes Indie who would be far cheaper than using a main dealer for coding.
