New E Class Estate Due in November.
The station wagon version of the 2010 Mercedes E-class has done all the tests and is ready for debut at IAA motor show this summer and it’ll be going on sale in November. The new E-class T-Model is 4.89 meters long and offers more space for the passengers than the previous model. It is also much roomier in the luggage area, offering 700 litres standard expandable to 2000. It’ll also feature all the new safety equipments introduced in the saloon version.

OOh that looks nice. A more sucessful design IMHO than the saloon and a great big boot to put your stuff in. And to think people buy GL classes, R classes when what they really need is a car like that.

I would expect so, they have been an integral part for so long now they would lose lots of sales if they dropped that option.

Yes. I was surprised that the E estate has more room in the boot than the ML. The GL space at the back is longer fore and aft but not as wide. Other makes like the X5 and the 5 series have npthing like the space of the E class. great for our two dogs. Interesting to see how much more the new one has. And the mpg with the new engines.

There has been a general move from 4x4s to E Class estates for some months now. Partly because of the threats of VED, partly because the E Class is a better load carrier, and partly because it is a more comfortable ride and more economical.

Should help the prices hold up.

I would expect it to be the same as the current model as the new saloon has a 540ltr boot and the W211 has a 540ltr boot :)

Audi had seats in the A6 and then dropped them, was this so they would buy the Q7??? MB dropped the 7 seats in the ML so that people would buy the GL or R Class??, just hoping they dont drop the 7 seater because the 7 seater E's are an integral part or our family and are much moreversatile than the GL or R's IMHO.

Check out the opening posting. They are saying that the estate has more room in the luggage area.

Having swapped my e63 estate for a 320 sport six months ago I have been really down in the dumps. The sooner a 63' comes out in the new shape the better. So long as the price is similar to the current 63.
I'm not sure about the looks though, I just don't like that rear wheel arch.
Depending on price and 'looks in the flesh' I could be leaving camp for an rs6 audi.

Too many Chris Bangle overtones for me. Like the BMs it will soon require a facelift. Mind you a car has to be pretty to look good in white. I quite like the facelift 211 but don't feel that this offering is an improvement.

I felt that Peter Pfeiffer did an excellent job but can't see his influence in this design. Oh well! time will tell, lets hope they get the mechanicals right which will be a redeeming feature.

To be fair, I think the E class has been so honed and refined over the years that it is bound to be a little bit here and a tiny bit there.
