2005 C270CDi Avantgarde Estate. Bought 2005, sold 2022.
Like the colour - quite similar to my W203. I think it was the only car in the dealers' that wasn't silver - presumeably that's why they seemed relieved when I bought it!

Not sure about the elevated view of the roof - think it makes the car look a bit wierd.

i hate the star in the bonnet grill, it should be on top of the bonnet where it's meant to be, and i dunno about this new design at all,

the third pic reminds me of a saab of all cars, and the second one reminds me of bmw/lexus

cmon mercedes get back into the plot !!!!

cheers

I don't like the new headlights - much less distinctive and more like everyone else's. If it weren't fore the huge grille logo people wouldn't guess it was a Merc.

I do not like the shape of new C class. The big sign in the grill is terible.
The whole car is made more for mass market, to compete with skodas and seats. I am not sure about reliability.

I doubt anyone will love/keep this car after 50 years (as old mercs were kept)

50 years ago cars were viewed in a very different light compared to today. Also cars were produced using very basic technology back in the 1950's.
I actually disagree. I think that most Mercedes produced today WILL take on collectability and kudos over time.
How many looked at a Pagoda during its production run and foresaw cult status 40 years later? Very few, if any providing they are honest.
The earlier Gullwing was a totally different case and cannot be taken as a typical Mercedes.

I used to have a red estate car. An Astra Jubilee actually. I didnt have any trouble shifting it when the time came.
You cant ALWAYS buy a car in the colour that you think will give a few pounds more at trade-in time. Its sometimes nice to buy the colour YOU ACTUALLY WANT AND LIKE. So what if you lose a few hundred a couple of years down the line.........big deal.......at least you have had the pleasure of owning and driving the car you actually wanted........as the man said.......priceless!

That sounds like one of a large battery of excuses "the trade" have for getting you to accept less than you think a car should be worth. It's just bollocks. Colour is one of the things second-hand buyers care about a lot *less* than new car buyers.
