Oh dear. Jodie Kidd, surely they have seen how wooden she is on The Classic Car Show!

Yes I have been reading about it in the press, I think that it will not work, as it is the characters more than anything.

I'll wait until I see it. It could work, you never know.

It's all very well having a potential team/crew to present it, but if there's no one to write it .....

And the crew has gone ..

It'll be as dull as all the other motoring programmes the three 'reported' presenters are currently in.

I've already reached the limit of how many times I can listen to Guy Martin repeat the phrase 'ey,proper job, proper job, int'it ey, proper job'

When I am cooking my toast for dinner I usually watch the old episodes on Dave, I just cannot see how it can ever be the same.

They have a lot to live up to regarding the old TG team , especially the way they were in the mid 2000`s programs which are still watch-able and entertaining today.

Jodie , a bit wooden with QW hopefully Guy + Phil will liven her up a bit. Just because she is presenting a Classic car program doesnt mean she has to put on her irritating "posh" voice.

Phil , Actor and "petrolhead" ? dont really know what he is all about but but he gives me the impression of a cockney wide guy so how that will fit into the "team" i dont know.

Guy , nutter and massive petrolhead and someone that can actually put his money where his mouth is. I just hope he can come across well as part of the new line-up and who knows there might even be a few bikes getting on the show , which cant be a bad thing. Just need to configure the subtitles on the TV when he starts speaking.

The old TG was stale so hopefully the producers dont try and follow the "exact" same formula with the new team as that would be a recipe for disaster.

Jodie Kidd, currently on The classic car show and not doing a great job of it.
Phillip Glennister, currently on some other car show where they do up cars but he doesn't put much of anything into it.

Guy Martin, now there's a bloke I could listen to all day and he shows real passion.
Can't really see it working with the other two though.

The Clarkson, May, Hammond shouldn't have worked.... but it did.
Maybe they are just looking at throwing three random people together to see if it works again.

If I had shares in Top Gear, I'd be cashing them in before the prices bombed.

 says a man that comes from Paisley Glasgae .....

I come from a very effluent part of Paisley will have you know, and can speak proper England if required.

I have huge respect for Guy especially as a rider / celeb and general down to earth person but he does tend to ramble a bit which is part of who he is , just not sure if it will go down to well with the wider viewing audience.

Cant argue with his ability though :

Proper racer, truck mech, knows his stuff and is fearless. Proper petrolhead. All good.

Just need to put him through the BBC media training courses (all of them to safely allow him on screen)

Then the Diversity training, the equality training, The DQF [STRIKE]training[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]borricks[/STRIKE] nonsense, H&S training and get him insured.

Work out his diaries to stop him racing (insurance) going near anything dangerous (insurance) and speaking like a normal bloke from the regions (ooh, we can't have that) By then the lad will be as safe as Dermot O'leary at which point the Daily Fail and The Torygraph will start in on him and the new team. At which point the BBC will panic and re-configure the 'format' just like Andy Wilman predicted. Dermot O'Leary will once again re-quit whatever safe nonsense he's been entrusted with and the process will begin again.

Meanwhile (WE'RE BACK) the boys are racing up an inappropriate (preferably sacred) location in a selection of hopelessly inappropriate vehicles and hopefully annoying third world ambassadors and Juntas, for many years to come.

I have a lot of time for Guy in the progs he's done, I just fear we'll end up seeing so many motorcycles it will no longer be worth watching. I do agree with the earlier comment though, eh, eh, eh. 50% repetition.
At least we know Jodie can drive a car.
Phil - hmm, he always comes across as though he's acting rather than presenting, don't like that idea.
Could be worse, at least no mention of Balding (as was mentioned in some papers).

Can't see why it would matter what she does, or who she does it with?

Who would be the frontman of this trio ? Not Guy Martin I hope, I hope he would be the Hamster replacement, he's not good TV, he couldn't front a show - well he could but I wouldn't watch it, he annoys me, and the bits he'd front in a new top gear would be treated like the adverts for me, i.e. time to make a brew or eject the remains of the last one!

Maybe he's good enough to be a Stig, I could live with that.

Sadly, I don't think TG has long to live (silk purse versus sow's ear etc) and I think it will be euthanised by the Beeb with a new motoring programme coming out shortly after.

Meanwhile, I'm looking forward to hearing which channel will end up with a new programme starring the TG three and run by the ex-TG team. I guess it's a case of 'watch this space'.
