Hi everyone,
I'm new here, have been reading the posts, very good site.

I've been looking into getting me a 7 seater estate (diesel), but cant seem to find what I want. What I am looking for:
1. 7 seater
2. must have command sat nav
3. Must not be older than a 55 plate, with reasonable miles
I am willing to spend upto 25K.
4. Dont want a 320 as it's too much for me (cost, insurance etc). 220 or a 280?

Am I looking for somehting that doesnt exist out there? Obviously I am a bit new to all this, so any advise would be really appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Barry

A210AMG, Tks for that.
Is it easy to fit command? has anyone done it and is it as good as the factory fitted ones?
Obviously I am a bit cautious/nervous as I am spending a lot of money(it's a lot for meee), dont want the car to be spoilt etc.

thanks
Barry

Hello

There are people that fit these units and you would never know it isn't factory, not sure on costs I would think £1500 to have it fitted. Sure there is a guy on here that does them.

Also look at Mercedes direct.

Your Mercedes
Jaguar XF 3.0 S, LR Freelander 2, Fiat 500 & Fiat Panda
why do you need command?
A standard audio 20 and a £120 tomtom does everything a command would do.

Actually I've recently acquired a landrover with built in touch screen DVD satnav. The screen is a lot higher up the dash than command but even then I find it far harder to use than a tomtom stuck to the screen. You have to look down to read the display which you don't if it's stuck on the screen. Add in the easier upgrade (just buy a new one), additional POIs, camera warnings etc and the fact that tomtom does all the same TMC stuff and whilst I'd like a command as a pretty gizmo, I wouldn't pay money for one and certainly not £1500+.

However, if you really want one and get an E with an audio 20 you'll not only need a command console and wiring, but also an audio gateway installed in the boot (Audio 20s don't have them). The AG is around £400 and installation isn't straight forward. So all in all, best get a car with one already installed, which will be easier to find on a 320cdi than a 220.
