a couple of weeks ago i started to get a horrible burning smell coming in the car when the heater was on, so today i took the engine cover off and found a load of black stuff around the first injector and it was hissing, i cleaned the black stuff off to have a look at it and it started hissing louder, now the auto box is stuck in one gear and wont change gear, has it gone into limp mode because of the injector?

no different fault, the black stuff is what we call black death, reason due to it eats the wiring and alsorts, new copper seal on the base of the injector needed, and new bolt, easy to replace,as for the box your have to get the oil level checked and any fault codes read!

be carefull with the bolt they break new bolt and clamp and it needs a homeing tool to clean the bore out of carbon best take it to a injector place and let them do it if bolt breaks can be a nitemare drilling and helicoiling need not a nice job
