C180 wont start please help

Hi All, Ive been contimplating the idea of a benz for a long while, But hey i didnt do my home work properly and my recent buy seems to be a dud...
I purchaced a 1995 80,000 mile C180 W202 with a slight misfire, Easy fix i thort!!!
How wrong was i.... Well the slight misfire was bearable the car drove fine it was just at low revs or idle the misfire occured,

Me being me i thort i would investigate by cleaning a few componants and now the car wont even start, it tries to start but a big no go, Any help out there would be really appreciated to point me in the right direction please,

Ive cleaned the following...

Plugs... Were all nice tan colour upon inspection,
Airfilter... grubby but not blocked,
throttle body....oilly but burnt oil not fresh
checked all vacuum hoses,.....all ok,
Coils omitted a regular spark pattern when plugs laid out in a row,
Checked connections to variuos componants,

I'm at a loose end hope some one can help...

Regards Dee

Hi Mudoch--Try undoing the fuse box ( engine compartment drivers side) under that you will find relays -remove and clean them make sure they are OK.--just jiggle them first and see if it starts - coud just be a bad connection ?

And the fuel is under pressure when cranking the engine?

Actually you said the plugs were a nive tan colour - if the car was failing to start I'd expect them to be wet with fuel. Woth whipping one out after trying to start a few times and seeing what it's like.

Located passenger side under large black cover, remove keys from ignition when fiddling with it. It has a fuse on it.
