Newbie - W115 Wanted!

Hello one and all,
Firstly, great forum
Secondly, I'm after my first mercedes and would love a W115 saloon preferably a petrol pre-73 200. Does anybody know of any going in the S.E region :?:
Lastly, what is the availability of parts and spares like for W115's, can anybody give me an idea of the cost of serviceable bits or clutches, pads, exhausts, etc.

w114s and 115s (externally almost identical) come up reguarly on ebay..

parts not a problem for servicing bits - german swedish or euro car parts.

check for rust rust rust... pm me if you need help lookign at a car if you are my way (hemel / watford -ish)

I may well take you up on that guydewdney! On what little info I could find on these cars, rust does seem to be an issue (the bottom few inches all round, top of headlamps and battery tray).
What are they like to run? I'm told the engines are pretty bullet proof and that an automatic is preferable?

Had a few petrol and diesel models, all of them had rust problems especially around the rear wheel arches which in turn ended up with the whole rear section (boot)of the car sagging. Rear doors sticking against the rear arches is one of the first signs. Stay well away.
Great cars though except for the above.
