No cruising in my 300TE

I've got a big smile on my face: I've just bought a 1988 300TE and despite having covered 174,000 miles, its smoother than my much newer BMW 540 - and it only cost £900!
However two items don't work: the cruise control does not work at all and neither does the outside temperature gauge. Anyone got any ideas? :roll:

Sounds like you got a bargain. Ref the outside temp display, I have an '88 300TE, and the temp display is blanked off, it is not light grey but black, and does nopt light up with the dash lights at night. It could be that, like mine, your car was not fitted with this option.

Not sure about cruise, my last 300TE had it, but this one does not. Sorry!

I agree with Motard man about the outside temperature display. These were originally only an option and often just blanked off on W124's.
