Hi, i'm a new guy to the site and hoping someone can help me.

I have a 1999 S320, 90,000 miles.

Recenlty the car seems to drop out of gear. Driving along quite happily, push the accelator and nothing happens - if i stop the car and restart it, seems to be fine. Assume it is some kind of transmission problem?

Have had problems with the electrics recently but thats all been fixed now - car was going nuts, lights flashing - seat moving backwards and forwards - fried lots of things - not sure if this could be related?

If anyone has any ideas would be really appeciated. Fixing the electrics was a nasty£600, hopefully the transmission isnt another one!?

Thanks

If its Auto check the gearbox oil level. It may have a leak form the seals on the plug where the wiring loom plugs into the gearbox. Very common. The oil level gets low and if low can cause loss of drive especially from cold when the oil level will be at its lowest.
