My C230 Sport with 7 G Auto box, runs like a dream apart from the fact that when pulling away from stationary there is a noticable delay from pressing the accelerator to actually getting moving. This can be a problem when moving off across junction and/or when doing a hill start as with the latter the car rolls back before the drive takes up.
It also falters somewhat when accelerating, till the power comes in.
I have had all the latest software updates installed according to my dealer. This happens in all modes C S & M.
Any ideas please?
Regards.

Sorry to raise the issue again, but does the lack of answers mean that I am the only one who has experienced this problem. Surely not, does everyones car pull away faultlessly, If thats the case then its definitely going back for a check up. Confused!

Can you tell me if the gearbox fluid has been replaced as there is a special filling system for these boxs and if its not carried out correctly is can cause the 1st and 2nd clutch packs to slip when upshifting.

It had a full service when i purchased it some 4K miles ago (only done 22K in total). It does not seem to be the box slipping, its more like the engine falters on pickup. It hesitate momentarily, makes it awkward when pulling away, in particular if for example you are trying to cross a busy junction, you have to allow for a second or so for movement. The power then comes in all of a sudden, not like a big surge, just this slight delay.

Quite a few owners on the N/A W204 forums have mentioned this hesitation or lag. As you say, its in heavier traffic - on and off the brake and gas pedal a lot, then it will occasionally feel as though the motors died. I've had it maybe two or three times over 18 mos. I wonder if the drive by wire gets a bit confused by multiple small throttle inputs, followed by a larger one?

I've read that you can "relearn" the throttle by turning on the ignition, holding down the gas pedal for 5 secs, turning the ignition off and then waiting for 2 mins before restarting. I don't know if this is an old wives tale though. Perhaps the specialists on this forum could confirm either way?

Cheers
