My car has done 56k and recently the nox sensor fault came up with p225f-92 code.my car 2017 teg and I read somewhere that mercedes will repair the issue free of cost if car is less then 5 years old or less then 80k mileage. Is that right and if yes how can I get it fixed? Many thanks

If you have the paper, share it with the forum first then take your car to a dealership and wave the paper under their noses! :)

There have been many outcomes from members with NOX sensor problems post Emissions Updates, with varying degrees of satisfaction, if you don't get satisfaction from the dealership today, I believe an MB Indy would have a better chance than an individual owner of getting a goodwill contribution from MB and I would suggest would be an option to exploit before anything else.

There’s quite a few different variants and upgrades to the Nox sensors, so going aftermarket might not work out.

What appears to happen is that once the software is update the original Nox sensors fail.

As you will almost certainly need a software update when fitting the new NOx sensor it's unlikely an ordinary garage could do it properly.
Best use an MB independent specialist or the dealer.

I would say what you heard is nonsense. Depends on goodwill. If you have never been to a MB dealer and spent a cent there they will say take a hike I would guess, just like any business-customer relationship.
But good luck and tell us how you get on.

Dealers (and higher up) are under huge pressure to balance the books and I get the feeling, as much as they can get customer to pay for which may have been a discretionary fix, they will get the customer to pay.

It does makes sense. I went to my local mercedes dealer and they said they are not aware of any free repair for nox sensor.they told me to contact MB headoffice in Milton Keynes and to ask them.i will call them on my Monday and try my luck as they are closed on weekend

Have a search and read of the forum, I expect they said they’ve never heard of Nox sensors failing either…
Unfortunately there are many instances of them failing prematurely

Mine is going in Monday to have the Nox sensor changed FOC. They also agreed to cover the cost of the diagnostic. I initially contacted Mercedes UK and explained how unhappy I was. They said that it would only be paid for as a goodwill gesture but a formal diagnostic had to be done first. The dealer was the most awkward about this and I had to insist they contact MB UK who immediately said it would be paid for. Just be persistent but I would contact MB UK first and keep the replies so you can show the dealer.

Your problems are only starting mate, Nox sensors are on back order so even if they agree to foot the bill, your car still isn't getting fixed anytime soon.
