Nox Sensor

My C200d, 2018 was still under warranty, the engine management light came on, the said it’s the Nox sensor and it’s under warranty but because they found water in the Nox sensor and they are not sure where from water came from, the warranty will be invalid and they want £750 for sensor fittings + £660 for investigation to find water! If I don’t pay they won’t give my car back.
Do you think I have to pay for it?

My car 300h 2015 same problem last year.., this is typical Mercedes fault ... after 2 days fighting replaced for free.,, this is steel warranty car.... no way to pay call to Mercedes uk ..,

Unless the NOx sensor is inside the car I'd be strongly arguing it's not well enough protected from rain and spray then.

you should not have to pay as the car is still under warranty, phone head office and speak to them, these sensors dont need water to fail as they fail anyway. good luck although i myself had to pay despite a full service history.

They said there’s possibility from inside the car under the driver sit ( where all wiring go down) someone spilled water! But I’m sure I never spilled water and the car was parked in the garage for the last 5 months!
They said other possibility is car been drove in a river!

Very strange indeed as recently we have rejected many Mercedes for tuning due to faulty Nox sensors so i think its more along the lines of the sensors need superseding with better sensors but are trying luck

Sounds to me like they're yanking your chain.
A part that sits under the car in the spray from driving in an environment full if water, heat, dirt etc can be damaged from inside the car?
NOx sensors fail for fun on MBs. I'd be taking this to Mercedes head office.

It’s Factory warranty
