Got an E280CDi on test at the mo - very impressed with both the drive and the poke (good job, as I get mine in 6 weeks!), but two things have struck me:

Creaky seat - the drivers seat creaks as you move about in it - really quite noticeable. Have a similar problem with my A6 - surely they shouldn't do that - it sounds like an old bed!

Then there's a sort of mechanical noise that I hear when moving at slow speed - it sounds similar to the noise the elecrtronic handbrake on my A6 makes when it engages - do the brakes on an e-class do something automatically, or is there another explanation? Power steering, maybe?

There are mods for the noisy seats, so MB know about that one, does not apply to new cars.

If it has the SBC (sensontronic hydraulic braking) then the pads move to dry off the discs periodically.

I forgot one more thing, there is a mod for the sensontronic, that is to fit a damper to the unit in the front of the car to stop noises.
