Friday night driving back home when a Muntjac Deer decides to slowly walk across the road as I approach at 38mph or so. I remember the speed as I had another car right up my tail (it was a 40Mph road).
Slammed on brakes to no avail, hit it and killed it instantly. I have never killed anything larger than a Snail in my life and I was totally gutted. - The G isnt exactly the greatest at braking being 2.5 Tonnes!

Stopped the car, hazards on and got out to have a look at it, as it was laying in the middle of the road. Expecting a blood bath as I saw bits and peices fly up luckly it was still in one piece (dead at least). It turns out the bits flying in the air were my bumper grill.

We dragged it off the road and onto the grass verge feeling terrible about it. I cannot imagine what it would have been like if it was still alive. :( :( :(

If I was still in the CLS, I think it would have gone over the bonnet possibly smashing the windscreen?

Damage isnt too much on the scale of things, £100ish for the grill and £200-300 to respray the front bumper. Luckly the 2x side radiators are fake to cover up the void behind the G63 Front bumper. It was bent in the crash so no issue.

I cable tied the largest chunk of grill I could find as a temp measure until I get a new grill.

Gutted for you. Nearly got one with the R class myself last week. It was on the left side of the road and I could see it dithering about whether to dart across the road as I approached. Luckily I had enough to time and space to brake and move over into the other lane and it decided not to run for it.

Had a friend have a deer jump from the side of the road in Canada, wrote the car off, deer ran off - only hit the screen and A-Pillar - first my friend knew about it was the airbag going off

Gutted for you buddy . At least you were not injured though .
I had a very near miss a couple of weeks ago driving back from Wales at night with a full on ABS brake job as a deer ran out with me doing 60mph on a dark single carriageway.
I am sure I only missed it because I put new bulbs in the car a week previously .

The damage is scary, but... I'm gobsmacked that there are fake radiator cores!! Seriously?

Yep, the previous owner fitted the G63 Kit, without them there would be 2x huge voids visible from the front.

A great solution to this issue IMO :)

Ah, I get it now. Not as it originally left the factory... I must be slow on the uptake, sorry.
