hi all i have a new shape 311 sprinter, its a hire van but ive had it remapped, it now does 29 - 30 mpg and pulls like a train, the chip guy recommended an oil additive as well to give another 2 mpg but i've heard people saying its a low ash oil thats used and to not put anything in it. what do you know? can you add an additive to it?

i do about 80,000 miles a year so more mpg is big money when you add it up over the year.

thanks in advance

Keeping the spark plugs and injectors clean is a guarantee to good performance. Its difficult to judge the effects of oil additives. If you use a premium oil then there is no need.

Mercedes dont recommend additives, good oil and regular services is the best option on any engine. Gen parts (filters) also.
