My oil level light came on recently and after some research and messing about decided to replace the sensor.
I have noticed the output plug on the side of the engine is leaking oil so I assume the seals have perished.
Looking at WIS to remove the sump on a W140 S500 119 engine requires a huge amount of work, basically lifting the engine out. Other research ive done suggests detaching the engine mounts and raising the engine enough to gain access to the bolts at the front of the sump, at the moment there is no access because there is a cross member that sits 1cm below the bolts.
If I raise the engine enough to gain access is there an oil pickup that would cause me a problem when sliding the sump away from the cross member, I dont want to go to the trouble and then find I cant remove the sump.
