Oil pressure

Hi,

I have a question about the oil pressure gauge in my w124 E300 diesel 1995. The mileage is 65,000 and the oil was changed 1,800 miles ago or so, it does not use any oil and there are no untoward noises. The gauge reads 3 when started and always when up and running but when idiling it drops to 2 and after a long motorway trip just under 2.
Is this about right?

Yes.

They can go down to 1 or a tage below in the summer when really hot. But as long as they go straight to 3 by the time the engine reaches 1500rpm. Then there is no problem. This goes for all MB engines.
