I drove up to Glasgow the other week and noticed that I needed to push the accelerator more than normal to increase my speed. Normally the slightest touch on the accelerator increased the engine revs but this time it took an inch or so before I had any response.

By chance I was checking my oil and noticed the rubber O ring on the dipstick was perished on one side. Replacing it fixed the acceleration problem. I guess it must have something to do with the engine breather system getting more air than it should into the inlet manifold.

Any to anyone with the same problem, worth a look.
