[Ref : 1990 E260]
At the start of the year my car was overheating & I was loosing quite alot of water. I presumed a hole in the radiator, tried radweld, which didn't really make much of a difference.
Turned out my water pump was knackered, so I got that replaced.
Since then, the car has still been overheating, but my water levels are fine.
My mechanic has tested for the head gasket problems, and seems convinced this isn't the problem.
He's ordered me up a new thermostat, which is getting fitted tomorrow.
Maybe I've not given enough details, but what do people think? Does this point to the thermostat in your opinion? Or is it likely to be something more sinister?
Many thanks, and if more details are required, let me know.
As you'll maybe have gathered, I'm not too clued up on the mechanics...
