just phoned my local mb stealership and asked for best price for rear parking sensors - reply £425 - thats the best price we can do and this is retrofit and audio only - what a bargain: i think not - anybody with any thoughts?
Very easy to fit all in the boot!--the operating wires attach (plug in) to the unit box -one wire to the brake light in harness one to live one to earth and the little bleeper unit plugs in the box and can be tucked away behind the rear 1/4 headlining.
Thats all you need--the dash mounted indication option is just a gimmick --you are looking behind when reversing not at the display --all you need is the audible signal to assist you.
The kits on Ebay from HK are usually with all instructions and a small hole cutting tool included-- last one I got was £14.99--with colour coded sensors.--
Pedestrians can get a bit shirty though as the loud beep can make them jump. Reversing camera is the next step so you can see the post/wall/car/tree that you just reversed into :Oops:These sensors are not just good helpers when you are reversing. In the past 2 weeks two people have walked close behind my car in car parks when I was in reverse gear. Although I could not see them in my mirrors, the sensors warned me not to move, and I am glad I did not.
As long as we have pedestrians who ignore the signs that a car is about to reverse, sensors will be a useful safety feature.

Very civil minded of you Alex, did you have a senior momentgiven I thought you would have run them down for having the temerity not to 'give way' to a superior force:lol:
