:D:D
That was full imperial gallons, and during the sixties you were served by a lovely young female who would wipe the screen and put the petrol in, then it was only 4 gallons for a £1

Hi All,

Being serious for a moment, yes, hurrah, the price of fuel is coming down. But has anyone else noticed how much more slowly the price of diesel is coming down? At the height of the crisis, diesel was about 10p a litre more expensive than petrol; now the difference is 12p or 13p a litre. I travel regularly all over the south-east and it's the same whether it's the majors or the minors.

Btw, on a slightly happier note, any of you dragged to Bluewater, you're one junction from Sainsbury's Northfleet, where both petrol and diesel are 3p a litre cheaper than anywhere else - including Sainsbury's at Sevenoaks, Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells. :(

From Bluewater, head coast-bound on the A2 but stick in the left-hand lane so you turn off towards Ebbsfleet Eurostar station. At the roundabout, take the second exit (back towards the coast-bound A2) but, again, stick in the left-hand lane and follow the sliproad towards Northfleet. Sainsbury's is left off the next roundabout. Getting back to Bluewater is pretty much the reverse.

Hth.

Regards,

My first purchase of Shell cost three shillings, fivepence and a ha'penny and it was a hairy Scotsman who had seen better days, really upset having had to move down to England just to add insult to the proceedings he enjoyed whipping his nozzle out and spilling the last 'dram' down the side of ones pride and joy in my case a hand painted black and white open top Bond three wheeler - not quite a 'bird puller' in any case there was hardly any room for late night shenanigans and being open topped it was to bl**dy cold:D:D
