Phone /Aerial proplems

:-(Hi, I have a 2003 E320 with mobile phone fitting for a Nokia 6310i and I'm having probs with signal strengh ... The phone when connected keeps losing signal ... when I'm static in a low strengh area the phone whilst in the cradle has no signal ... if disconnect the phone and just leave it sat on the cradle it will register 2-3 bars???? Is the MB aerial supposed to enhance the signal??
My Mb dealership says not but they will not admit to any problems as the car is still under warranty.
Is there anywhere I can get the aerial tested

The amps in the C pillar do go down giving this problem

Thanks for correcting me, not a good night, last night, the Ctel antenna's go down, also the thin wire inner cores do break

There could be a combiner in the roof or C pillar
Best to plug another antenna in, that will prove the point
