Please help me ID this motor

I have acquired a motor from a tech school here that was donated by the factory as a training model.The block numbers located on the drivers side in the middle are 616-011-28-01.It is a four cylinder diesel.Any help you may provide as to what application this is for would be greatly appreciated.Richard.

I think MBUSA would be able to link the engine number to a chassis number - and hence the model.
