Smoking diesels are a common problem and the causes are many and varied, most common is blocked / obstructed air intake..so change the air filter and check all pipes are clear..and use the genuine MB filter, next check the EGR valve is working..these do have a habit of blocking up, also filling petrol instead of diesel can cause the car to smoke..other drivers dont like telling you they have done it...

Are the injectors the same 'class' as the ones that came out? On the larger CDI engines, they differ, and need programming in the ECU.

I am sure that white smoke is air in the system, sadly I am not good with diesels,,just give the experts a chance to come on, and they will:D

There is a possibility of valves problem, take it to the Indies or dealer unless you are an expert mechanic to tinkle with the valves and gaps.

Air in the system will cause severe miss firing (if you can get it started), it will run like a pig (on the assumption that pigs dont run smoothly) white smoke is not likley as a result of this.
If this is only since the injectors were changed it in my opinion the injectors are at fault, unless something else was adjusted or replaced at the same time.

If the timing was out it would (depending on which way and how far out) be suffering from poor performance and probably poor starting.

Check with the injectors supplier regarding their need for calibration into the engine management system (ECU).
