wow, would have to be doing that myself. be sure as poss you have sourced all/any external leaks that may have contributed to the failure and check the head really well for crack when off .i would be taking valves out to look and if nothing seen on head or gasket i would have the head press tested, as i would NOT want to do job 2x !! inspect old gasket for definitive sign of failure when its off . think you can find guidance on ut for this job...dont be in a hurry. i would have thought yr local engineering business would ,if needed, skim yr head for £50 ,if you strip it..its not a big job . try to establish max that can be removed/skimmed to save engineering co wasting time looking for that info.
