Greetings

I am considering buying a 53 C270CDi and would be grateful if anyone could give me a heads up about this model. I have an ***i A6 (sorry) so any pluses/minuses that could help me reach a decision?

The Merc has 55K on the clock, will be serviced if I buy and is a metallic blue - no leather but thats not a major problem to me.

What should I be looking for in a test drive and what about the fuel consumption?
;)
Thanks

I have had my 53 C270 since January and I am more than happy with it. Consumption on the motorway is between 45 and 48 mpg and over the past 3000 miles the overall average consumption has been 40 mpg.

It is not the quickest car in the world in terms of 0 -60 but it has plenty of torque and feels quicker than it actually is, and sounds nice into the bargain when you accelerate.

Mine is Jasper Blue and has the cloth trim. I find it very comfortable on long journeys.

As for what you should look for ona test drive I am sure more learned members will be able to offer advice. All I know, is this was the first Mercedes I had driven and after a fairly brief test drive my mind was made up :)

Depends on your A6 model. Ours is the manual V6 sport TD Quattro which gives 37mpg. Capable performance, but some A6's seem somewhat flat after ours. (Now done 50k miles).
My E220 coupe is a petrol auto which is more sedate and returns about 30 wafting about.
So, I suppose it depends on what you are comparing it with.
Audi build quality is superb, so is the W124.
George.
