Purchasing Engine Oil from Ebay/Amazon

Hello all,

I want to change the oil + oil filter in my W211 OM642 engine and half 0.5 litres of Petronas Syntium 5000 DM left over from my last oil change. I'm looking to purchase this off eBay to give me 8 litres, add this with my left over totaling 8.5 litres.

It appears as though 8L for £48.99 is an absolute steal, further more, 10L is going for £49.99 which is even more baffling. Seller reviews appear excellent so other than the price I have little to doubt the authenticity of the oil.

My question is, is this too good to be true or is that price about right?

As tempting as that is, I'm currently after the 229.52 spec. Plus I'm not sure I'll hold on to the car for much longer to hold onto 11.5L of oil after changing it soon.

Hi, I have always bought my oil from Newcastle MB until i came across this excellent English made top spec oil
which comes in a awful lot cheaper than the MB stuff and matches the grade and specification! try it

I've used that and also their 236.14 tranny fluid , so am a Smith & Allen fan.

Smith and Allen for me also, use their 5w40 in my Jeeps om642 and get all my transfer case and differential oils and friction modifiers from them.
