R230 newbie

Hi all,
my name is Rich, and am based in cheshire. I’ve just bought a 2003 R230 SL500. It’s a step up from my first, but highly cherished, entry into the world of mercedes ownership which was an ice metallic 2003 W209 convertible. (Which i PXd.
just thought I’d say hi, as although I have a top notch merc specialist (Nick webster in adlington), I think you sometimes get better information from people who cherish their cars.
Please bare with me if I ask the simple questions

Nick is great, honest guy.. and his ethos is ‘throw thought at the car, not parts,’ a few times he’s saved me loads just though the collective workshop knowledge. Totally recommended, a professional and above all an enthusiast.

I take unlike nowadays with amg offering their name to just styling/branding In some cases (amg line etc).... that this was not the case in 2003, and it was just an emblem applied at a later date by the owner?
