Hello all,

Have found a guide to removing the soft close pump in the boot and sealing the ball bearings with glue.

Thought I would give the fix a try before the pump completely craps out on me.

I have done the temporary fix of resetting the system by removing and reinstalling the fuse and I guess I have a few days before the pump trips out again.

But I’m now stuck at the first hurdle. How do I get the 5 plastic pins which are either side of the latch mechanism out? They seem to be securing the plastic front plate to the locking mechanism. Any ideas?

You’ve probably got them out by now but you need a plastic pry tool with two prongs which slide under the sides of the cruciale rivet. Gently easier it out, then you can remove the second part underneath.

The epoxy fix was a success. I have sealed the bill bearings and tested it for 6 months. We have a soft close success story.

I need to find a genius with a star system. I have an icarsoft V2 and a list of codes and faults. But I need a genius with a Star who can dig into the code and locate the fault. Mechanically car is sound.

But my instrument cluster is doing its nut and constantly resets if I press the steering wheel windows buttons. Hence, I lose cruise, tyre reset and SRS and the display goes full sith red.

I suspect a fault in the instrument panel or some corrosion which is screwing up these systems.

I would like a specialist Genius to diagnose the issue and fix the instrument panel, as I can’t take the red display any longer. I’ll take the car anywhere to get it fixed.

Also, some mornings the instrument panel and toys work perfectly well and lulls me into a false sense of security for awhile. So open to recommendations of which garage/specialist can sort this?
