Had a Tesla in this week, supposedly 350 mile range, owner can’t get 200 at the moment...

It also took him over an hour to get onto the system before he could start charging…

They‘re not there yet (if they ever will be) :(

There will be a lot of travelling sales people wetting their pants when the company finance director says all EV from now on expect to see a lot of EVs stranded in the future

How big is the tank on an E class ?
It’s one of those numbers I keep forgetting . It’s around £90-100 fill up at supermarket prices though . Normally I get about 660 miles which is to Anglesey and back from Essex which always impresses me as a realm world distance .
I could never drive slow enough to get 800miles fro a tank :)

The tank on the ML is 18.3 gallons, it sometimes predicts over 600 miles tank range, that equates to low 30's (mpg)
which I think is impressive for a 20 year old 2.3 ton Panzervaggon, not that I've ever actually got that mpg out of a whole tank of fuel, 540 -550 is more realistic.

My son works for a large UK water testing company that fits trackers to all their company cars mostly skodas and ford focus etc , one of his colleagues opted for a new Prius hybrid as the tax band is very favorable, they fitted the tracker and within a couple of days it died, fleet operator told him to return it to Toyota,
Toyota dealer has declared it a write off as the electrics have been "damaged" by the black box installer/company and there's no one at the dealer who is able to fix it. My son is very happy as he thinks they may scrap the trackers across the board now rather than risk the same thing happening again.

I had 925 miles from the 65ltr tank on my W213 E220d

My previous W211 E320CDI had the larger 80ltr tank

That sounds like a pile of BS. A lot of Police forces are using Hybrids and EV’s now and they have very sophisticated trackers fitted. Not just location but steering, brakes, accelerator, lights, indicators as well as G-force tracking.

I regularly see a range of over 1,000 miles on my E350CDI 80Ltr tank, plus 900 miles on my SLC250d.

There are data boxes in I believe all marked police vehicles now.

All good but the starting price of the car is £100,000-00.

I’m not anti electric cars but they are still too expensive and (purchase price aside) charging is still a problem that is not going away and will get worse as more people switch to electric. Apparently the tipping point (for teh big switch to EV) is when the EV price matches an equivalent ICE and has the same range but, that is when the charging problem is going to get worse.
