Rattle from engine compartment

Hi there,

Had this problem for three weeks now, there is a rattle sound from my C200 engine compartment whenever I reverse my car and whenever I over steer the wheel during idle. This rattle noise is really annoying and it happens just after its yearly service. Don't have much knowledge on car/engine, but does overtighten the belt will cause this rattle sound? No idea if the MB specialist that I had my car for service did anything to the belt (I thought so since the rattle wasn't there before the service).

my c200 is at mechanics now..with similar sound and it is having a drive belt tensioner and shock absorber for the tensioner....angie

Hi,had a similar rattle......turned out to be the heat shield above the middle exhaust box was loose.......noise in reverse and turning..cheers

Thanks all, will give the heat sheild a closer look and most probably another visit to the specialist within this few days.
