Ive had my CLK just over 2 weeks now and its been lovely, but now its started putting up a fight.

Every time I start the car, it is extremely loud and rattles a lot, I cant really describe the noise it makes, it sounds like a very very old car starting up, very rattely and gassy. The car has done 122,000 Miles now, are the lifters hydraulic ? Thinking this could be the rattle ?

The idler on the front of the engine can rattle when worn out and very common,, this is part of where the serpentine belt goes around. I do not think that the engine would start making a loud noise

Speaking of oil change, where on earth is the filter ? Under the black cover by the power steering fluid resevoir ? Also when I was going to change the oil I was also going to pour some product in that sorts out noisy lifters, I think its made by wynns.
