    Hello,

Basically the rear diff on my car is shot. Oil is pouring out of it. The part new is around 2k from Merc. Looking to find a cheap secondhand one.

My rear diff part number is

    2033505414
    Ratio 2.87

Any ideas where I can find one? Do the part numbers have to match exactly the same or just the ratio the same?

    Thanks for any help,
    Michael

Could the offending seal not be replaced?

    Thanks for the post.

The seal was completely knackered and judging from the loud groaning noise, the Rear Diff was very close to seizing completely.

Really trying to hunt down a suitable part. But can't seem to find a part with the same part number, only the same ratio (from same year cdi auto)

Try euromerc, three pointed parts, or dronsfields

I'll try give them a call.

The ratio needs to be the same, the part number doesn't so long as the mounting points mate up.

The Mercedes Used parts Service have quite a few on their site.
They offer them in 2 qualities ("A" and "B" ).
Price round about £690 for A quality, £430 for B quality.

Thanks guys for the help. In the end I managed to get one from Dronsfields for £150. Hopefully should do the trick. Think I'd been reading the casting numbers on Ebay as part numbers and getting confused!
