My 78' 300D leaking ravishly on rt. rear cv boot @ wheel side ?? Common sense says replace boots only. Does anyone know if it is possible to purchase seperate, or should more be done given unknown amount of time leaking and damage done. Shifts up and down smooth.

My drive axle leaks at the outside boot of my rear wheel car, it starts to do this after you drive. I have gotton down and seen this. It has weathered and sprayd a rotaition ring onto frame underneeth car. worried about axle grease, somethings comming out and nothings going back in(fluid). Normal? Change 1, both? Hopefuly not entire unite? Sorry so confusing.

Sounds like a rubber boot has split/loosened.

They are replacable seperately. I would suggest replacing both sides and topping up the diff oil.

Find your model here and check out the parts;-
