hi guys

i am not sure if this is a good offer however I was impressed at the price condering its from MB direct.

its normally £499 but they have an offer on until the end of the month which includes supply and fitting for £299.

This offer is on at Mercedes Benz Direct at the moment Im sitting in the Park Royal one at the moment and this is what they have on.

So ring up your nearest one to see if they participate.

All the best

You can buy a sensor pack for £20 from Ebay and fit them yourself in a couple of hours, save yourself a few pounds in the process.

I would do that if I could buy the oem display to make it all "look right"

You will be suprised at just how many dealers (not just Merc) take the order for PDC at the brochure price then sub-contract to local fitters. They look the same and are body coloured in most cases but ain't the real-deal. No issue with the product just the conniving, cheating salesmen....

Volvo did it to me when I exited company car scheme I bought a brand new one and had PDC option fitted but I knew (as I'd had about 5 Volvo company cars) that the genuine item beeped through the cars rear speakers not a buzzer in the boot somewhere. Embarrasment all round for them, a refund for me and compensation. My Dad has had two Fords done the same (one wasn't even colour coded) and being a bit of an old duffer now believed the dealer who said nice words to him. A friend in a Peugeot has had same but the aftermarket ones look better and they only 'half lied' in that they told him it was a special deal before eventually admitting they weren't factory fit (but then weren't charging factory fit price).

bugger i didnt catch the name of the kit, he even brought out a yellow coloured box showing me the black body colured sensors and the display unit they fit to the roof of the car next to the rear windscreen so that you see it in the rear view mirror.

sound is through the car speakers. they charged £125 for the kit and £135 to fit.

i know you can buy cheaper kits and i could have had some automotive electrician come out to me and fit some kit and charge me a few quid less but i was already there and i get a lovely receipt from MB showing they fitted it.

plus, most importantly like mark says, i have the original display unit showing distance left on either side. im very chuffed
