red battery light ?

so with a new battery in the boot the car suddenly starts throwing up the red light for battery , car starts and drives perfectly well , only thing I can find is the consumer battery is showing only 10.9v at rest , which i presume is too low , its the original battery too by the looks of it , do we think this will be the culprit for the warning ? car is an E320 cdi 2003 model

Wonder if a code read would point to the aux battery.
Some consumables run of that - have you had anything shut off.

there was a code , well not a code as such , it read consumer shutoff stage 2 , whatever that means ? nothing I put on / off , aircon or blower fan changed any of the readings

its the original battery too by the looks of it , 2003 model

Look at the date stamped on the battery.
Anyhow if its reading 10.9 its toast.

What is it reading with the car running, to make sure it is getting juice.

it reads between 13.6 and 14.3 when running so normal enough , will get the customer to replace it and see if that cures it

Can you measure the auxilliary battery with the main battery connected, are they independant systems ?.

yes icarsoft allows each system to be accessed independently
