I think the timing belt or alternator is going. When I start the car it turns on normal. After 20 secs or so I get that warning visit workshop then follows a loud rattling noise, kind of jerks also. Actually seen the timing belt stop for a split second.

Heres a video

I ring my local mechanic on Monday, just wondering how bad is this?

Sounds like one way pulley on the altnernator or the alternator itself.

potentially a seperated crank pulley, but can't tell from the video.

Neither a massssive jobs.
