Hi

Need to remove the diesel injector to replace the copper washer on my C220 CDI Sport Auto.

I removed all the hard black tar stuff from around the injector, but it's very hard to remove or lift up. Is there a tool to lift the injector out from the engine.

Please advise.

Many thanks.

There is different puller tools. Try ebay.

Search 'black death' for more info. 1st rule: Run engine hot before trying...

when I did mine I bought a Draper injector removal tool.
Didn't need it in the end.
If you get the engine really hot it may pull out with a pair of molegrips, mine did.

Clean everything well including the seat where the washer fits.
You can get tools to do this properly.
Bed the washer in using "special Grease" and use a new clamp and bolt

Yep just like the one I bought and returned.
I actually had difficulty getting it under the injector so used molegrips to pull it up and ended up pulling it out.
If you can't get the engine hot you will need the puller. The black stuff is impossible to shift when cold but it is brittle hence why you need a slide hammer.

The price from amazon ain't too bad but if you have the tools to get the clamp undone and can get the engine hot you might as well give it a go.

The trick is to get the engine super hot then slide hammer them out. That draper one is pretty flimsy and poor in quality, the hammer isnt that great either. The special tool from MB however is top notch and they fly out.
