Dear All,

How can I remove the passenger door wood trim on my 1992 W124 estate?

Its doing a rattly noise when driving over rough roads which is driving me crazy! I have checked it close up and it seems the wood is a bit loose (in fact, keeping it pressed down stops the noise).

Any ideas of how to renove it and superglue it back? Or maybe I should use some felt backing to damp the vibrations?

Thanks in advance,
Riccardo

Thanks Keith,

I haven't been on the board for a while so missed that topic (and was too lazy to search!).

The problem seems indeed exactly the same, will see how I can sort it out. Have got a 800mile trip tomorrow ahead of me, most of it motorway which, like you, is the kind of speed it happens at (usually over 90).

Cheers!

Thanks Tom7035. Is this the only part I need to follow?

"Gently prise off the trim around the inner door opening handle and the triangular piece at the door mirror. Remove the small screw and trim at the door lock and the 10mm bolt securing the top of the door pull handle to the door frame. "

That's it, tho' I missed a detail about unhooking the connecting rod from the inner door handle to lock before lifting the door card off. (but it's fairly obvious at that stage). Remember to put it back before refitting the door card. I forgot it and had to do the whole damn thing again! Also bear in mind the 'patience' bit when trying to re-engage all of the hooks.
