S 500 Coupe (1993 'L' reg)- Advice needed

Hi there i am thinking of buying a S500 coupe (1993 'L' Reg), can anyone advise me on things to look for.

I don't know a lot about them, only to say they are a complex car.
It is fitted with a M119 V8 engine, considered by many as the best ever MB V8, but discontinued because of green laws, and replaced with todays less powerful M113 V8.

Check for rust,a sevice history and try to buy for a decent price,as this type of car is expensive to run and maintain.

I would only add that there are loom issues with MBs from the early 90's, when they started using a wiring loom that decomposed... It was stopped within a few years but some of the older cars might still have them

There are lots to choose from and its a buyers market so take your time and look for the "perfect" car rather than a cheap one as repairing them properly costs
