Hi all,
So, the other day, after leaving the car standing for about seven weeks (battery on maintenance with a ctek), I took the old girl out for a run. She instantly felt down on power, particularly in the 40 to 60 range. Sure enough, an epc fault popped up. I didn’t bother to plug in my MB2 until a few days later, and it showed a P2015 code, regarding the intake manifolds runner or some such. I blanked the code, but it came back almost immediately. I’m guessing this is the dreaded swirl flap issue?
Would I be right in thinking that the resistor bypass would save this? If so, where exactly is the plug that the resistor fits into? Also, is there any ill effect from bypassing the shutoff motor?
A few observations: whilst driving with the code still active, I got pretty exceptional MPG, and some really silky gear changes (not something my car has always provided!). Only visible symptoms are lack of power, and no kickdown.
Car is an 05 w220 S320cdi, with 140k on it.

Any advice gratefully received!

Many thanks guys!

Bertie

Another vote for the resistor mod as a cheap “potential” fix

id do the port motor mod pal , its easy and cheap so go for it and also check the condition of the orange seal on the bat wing

I’m not sure the straight 6 works the same with the resistor fix compared to the V6 om642 ?? On the V6 it’s the electrical plug to the inlet port motor which is visible by removing the air intake to the front of the turbo .

My 2004 straight 6 doesn't have them, although the manifold looks to have the same casting as those that do.
