S600 gear box problems

I have a 1995 W140 S600 with 89k mileage. It has started to develop a problem with the gearbox. First thing in the morning it sometimes will not engage reverse gear; or alternatively, it will not come out of first gear immediately and when it does, it thumps into the next gear. Any suggestions? I live in Berkshire.

replace gearbox oil and filter.... at least check the level - start engine, warm up, run lever back and forth through gears. check dipstick with engine running.

if no luck - George Fraser in west london sorted my W140...
