thanks roofless i've seen that site before, very good it is too but dam they are expensive (i'm not rich...)

I will keep looking, any ideas welcome

let me give you an idea, for the front wing plus new light and foglight on that site i could actually buy a second hand W110 and rip parts of it

but then i'd have two...

i don't know what to do...

do they have panel beaters in Sweden Niall

it might be worth tracking one down and seeing whether he can resurrect your old panels or make new for you. Just a thought.

I've seen craftsmen at work

in North Africa and eastern europe, and you would have thought the car was just a pile of junk, yet they manage to get it looking very respectable. With the quality and thickness of metal in your old beauty it should be something someone can fix. thick metal regains its shape better.

ok I finally found some spare parts !

don't laugh, they look bad but looks can be deceiving, and these are WAY cheaper than buying the parts new, plus they are original parts

i havn't received them yet but wanted to share the good news

i'll update you more when i get the bits !

Thats a hell of a lot greener motoring than the current Govt scrappage scheme at least.

ok i've now paid for those parts and am awaiting delivery, and yes i will photo them when they arrive, i know they look hilarious with the moss etc on them but i prefer moss to RUST and dents, so... once I have them i'll let you know if i wasted my money or not

cheers

only a mild leg pull Niall

I'm glad you found some anywhere, let alone in some corner of a swedish field that will be forever germany ( sorry Rupert).

Was the price very attractive?

A good tip, fit the panels as they are and liberally paint the rest of the vehicle with a couple of pints of sour milk. After a couple of weeks you should have a perfect blend in.....:)

hi.

Firstly, sorry to see the details of the crash and damage, but pleased you are going to get her back on the road.

During my R107 restoration, I found the mercedes electronic parts catalogue invaluable to see what parts are needed etc. i am sure it still covers your W110 aswell. many of the parts i ordered for my 107 have 110 part numbers :) EPC can be accessed online for £15 and you get to see all the part numbers etc better than with the russian clone site.

When I put a wing on an old London Taxi, I put a bead of clear silicone on the join before I bolted the wing on, It makes sure no water can get in the join.
Alan

MB sell a rubbery tape thing that goes along the top of the wing that seals it before its bolted on. well worth it - only a few pounds.

good luck and i'm looking forward to the repaired photos in due course!!

if you visit my R107 restoration site you will see the two posts i put on there regarding fitting of my own wings.

its great when you find a rare part for sale and you cant wait to ensure you have it safe in your hands just incase the seller drops out etc. i felt the same when i had to order some rarer R107 parts that were too expensive to buy new.
