Safe Mode

Happy New Year everyone. My 2004 Eclass 320 CDI decided to go into safe mode, I think caused by me being stationary for some time and running it on tick over. Not sure what the problem could be, it seems to run okay just won’t rev out because it’s on safe mode anyone know how to get it off safe mode?
Dreaded light on dash illuminated.

You should get the codes read to see why the limp mode was triggered.
But is there possibility the battery was low voltage? That can cause strange issues.
So the issue is codes thrown up may be misleading.

For me I would run it, get everything up to temperature. You may find 'whatever' sorts itself and the limp resets on ignition cycle/s.
