My car (E220CDI )is 2 years old now, and though still under warranty, it has been faultless. I have got quotes for service and service plus cover at £43 and £76+VAT pcm, but theformer seem dear when I compare it to say the 4 services due over the 3 year period quoted for. The latter could be good value is something worth £1800.00 to fix were to break though, though that may not happend

How have others fared with these contracts ? are they simple ie no hidden clauses , and represent value for money?

Here is what the warranty covers.

I have taken it out at £97 pm for 20,000 miles per year - covers everything but tyres.

There are lots of posts/threads on this - do a search for serviceplus.

On average, the provider must make money on the deal but you're really buying peace of mind so that you don;t have to worry about that possible £1800 bill.

Firstly, you've only had gentle servicing to date. Later services can get nasty with gearboxes, brake fluid, coolant changes plus filters you've never heard off.
Then there are things like brake pads, disks and other little incidentals.
My last service, with a discount, came to £600. That was on a 2 1/2 year old E270 with 48k on the clock.
All this alone makes it reasonable value.
However, it's the additional warranty aspect that really adds value. A full warranty extension will cost £600+. Add this in and service plus looks like remarkable value.
(and I don't have it!)
